Tech news for builders, not hype cycles.

Tech coverage swings between breathless hype and reflexive doom. Neither tells you what is actually shipping. The Scroll filters tech writing for the people who build with it: serious reporting, technical deep dives, honest reviews, and the occasional sharp essay on where the industry is heading. AI, software, hardware, and the human stakes of all of it.

U.S. Government Directs Anthropic to Shut Down Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Models on National Security Grounds

Anthropic: The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Anthropic models will not be affected.
