The Right Kind of Suffering
It wasn’t raining in Trout Lake as twenty hikers loaded into two trucks, though it had been for the previous three days. It wasn’t raining at the trailhead, either, which was much higher in the mountains. It wasn’t raining in the forest, but each and every plant was studded with droplets of water that threatened to soak our shoes and pants if we got too close.
