Malawi achieves historic victory over 10-time champ Nigeria in first-ever WAFCON game

In the national team’s first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations game, Malawi stunned 10-time reigning champion Nigeria 3-2, thanks to a trio of goals by the Chawinga sisters. The WAFCON debutants stormed the pitch after the final whistle in Morocco, after securing one of the biggest upsets so far in the top African women’s soccer competition.
