The union drive at the Wikimedia Foundation is expanding

Remembering Chip Conyers, a Protestant Saint

Chip Conyers embodied—like none other whom I’ve ever known—the central Christian belief that we are already living in the New Age, that the Kingdom of God is not an idealistic hope to be realized in some far-off time but a present reality.

How the Supreme Court deepened uncertainty over Temporary Protected Status

Legal protections for hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians in the U.S. have ended after the Supreme Court upheld the termination of their Temporary Protected Status, a ruling that could reshape the program's future. The big picture: The justices limited courts' ability to review Homeland Security's TPS decisions — making challenges harder and leaving hundreds of thousands of people at risk of losing legal status, work authorization and protection from deportation. Established in 1990, TPS protects nationals of designated countries fleeing extraordinary circumstances from deportation. "The ripple effects of this are going to be really big" and "really impactful for not only the TPS holders themselves, but for everyone in their communities," says Esther Sung, the Justice Action Center's legal director. State of play: The Trump administration has moved to end TPS for nationals of more than a dozen countries — sparking legal challenges scrambled by the high court's decision. At

A Fruit Essential to the Life of the Christian The word translated gentleness in Galatians 5:22–23 means “meekness, mildness of disposition, tenderness in spirit.” The word James uses to describe the gentleness of heavenly wisdom means “reasonable, equitable, patiently hearing and deciding on a matter, not overly strict” (James 3:17). These qualities must be present in the life of the believer. Their absence indicates the presence of an evil substitute. Have you considered what opposes gentleness? According to Scripture, unrighteous anger is its antithesis. The fruit of the Spirit is contrasted with the deeds of the flesh. These are “enmity, strife, jealousy, fits

Employees of OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as Google, Meta, Thinking Machines, Microsoft, Mistral, and other leading AI labs, have written a statement to the US government supporting a potential slowdown of sorts for frontier AI development - or at least a speed-up of global coordinated governance efforts. "Al could help create a dramatically better future, but that outcome is not guaranteed," the employees wrote in a statement. "The world's leading Al companies believe they could be close to automating Al research. It is hard to predict exactly how much this will accelerate Al progress, but there is a real risk that capability development … Read the full story at The Verge.
