Apple is selling the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ and Pro Max in four colors, including silver, black, burgundy, and glacier, which is a light blue. Burgundy especially looks good in person, and people who missed black last year will be glad to see it back. A letter is circulating among House members urging Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to bring back the House "immediately" and keep it in session until Congress passes AI safeguards, Axios has learned. Why it matters: Such drastic action has been proposed by members of both parties this week after current and former Anthropic researchers went public with warnings that AI could kill off humanity in the next decade. The letter to Johnson, drafted by Sam Liccardo (D-Calif.), says "urgent action" is needed "to address catastrophic risk posed by advanced artificial intelligence," according to a copy first obtained by Axios. The letter is co-signed by Reps. George Whitesides (D-Calif.) and Lori Trahan (D-Mass.) but was still being circulated as of Friday afternoon. Driving the news: The letter calls for the House to "return to Washington immediately and remain in session until Congress advances meaningful, bipartisan AI safeguards."
