A Mis-Clipped Anchor Leads to a 60-foot Ground Fall—And a Miraculous Catch

Boulderers spot their friends on low boulders. Sometimes we spot climbers before they clip their first piece of pro. Very rarely do we spot a climber falling 60 feet. The post A Mis-Clipped Anchor Leads to a 60-foot Ground Fall—And a Miraculous Catch appeared first on Climbing.

Nemi: The Strawberry Festival Game Review

We’re in the middle of a war in our garden. It’s all based around the strawberries we have foolishly attempted to grow. Those strawberries are not making it into our bowls. Someone is getting to them first. We were almost convinced it was our regular visitor, Howard the Hedgehog. There isn’t much that Howard won’t scoff. Put a net over ‘em, you say? Yeah, we did that. Then, one super early morning (deeply unusual for me) I happened to squint out of the kitchen window, and what did I spy? Why, a particularly nimble squirrel, scoffing our strawberries. The little son of a nutcracker had torn and chewed a squirrel-sized hole in the netting, and was sharing his rewards with some happy starlings. I think I’ve had two of those strawberries. Two. Not exactly a festival. Not even enough for breakfast. So let’s head to Nemi where we can enjoy a strawberry festival! (Scout’s honor, every word of that odd little tale is true.) In Nemi: The Strawberry Festival, players immerse themselves in the c

LeBron James Gets A Surprising Russell Westbrook Comparison From Olden Polynice

LeBron James has spent more than two decades setting records that once looked out of reach. Yet former NBA center Olden Polynice believes one of the game’s rare statistical feats should have belonged to James long before Russell Westbrook made it his own. Polynice is not questioning James’ greatness. His argument is almost the opposite. [...]

Hexishtrek Day 43 Castanhada to Plo de la Voulp €0

I was feeling a bit Hexishtrek this morning. My two options for continuing my push southish were to follow the Hexatrek in a looping semicircle path that kept me clear of any road walking (good for my allergies) or a more straight up the guts route marked on my map as an ancient path. I mean it’s not a tough choice really, is it?  The post Hexishtrek Day 43 Castanhada to Plo de la Voulp €0 appeared first on The Trek.

Anthropic report: 5 ways Claude was exploited for war, spying and repression

The AI safety debate exploded this week over warnings that the technology could one day destroy humanity. Anthropic's latest threat report offers a more immediate wake-up call: Today's models are already helping U.S. adversaries develop kamikaze drones, hunt dissidents and conduct dangerous virus research. Why it matters: AI is tearing down barriers that have long constrained the world's most dangerous actors. A handful of people can now mount operations that once required legions of spies, engineers or hackers. Driving the news: Anthropic — the safety-focused lab behind Claude — says it spent the past eight months tracking and disrupting attempts to misuse its models. Among the most alarming cases it uncovered: 1. An Iran-linked operation used Claude to help target U.S. naval forces. Claude helped build targeting handbooks tracking ship positions, U.S. personnel, aircraft and ship identifiers, satellite imagery and websites exposing naval movements. Other Iran-linked operations ta

Choosing Between A Wetsuit Vs Drysuit

Contrary to any fantasies of paddling being a tropical experience on a daily basis, the reality for most of us is that for the majority of the year, canoeing, kayaking, standup paddleboarding and rafting take place on cold water.
